Two HUGE Milestones

The Babsland family encountered two huge milestones on Sunday.  Call it our way of celebrating Labor day, especially since Mr. Babsland doesn't get the day off.

First, we bought a Wii.  Not only that, but we hooked it up and played it.  Anyone who knows us, also knows that this purchase came after months of debate and contemplation.  We asked ourselves all the important questions:  Is this going to turn our brains to mush?  Are we going to do anything else?  Can we use it to bribe the children?  Is it educational?  Is it really the best use of our money?  In the end we realized that we could no longer rob ourselves or our children of the pleasure of video games.  Not only will this help in their creating conversation with other children, but it will teach them coordination, it will create good family fun, and it will help break the monotony of cold, gloomy winter days and hot, steamy summer days.  Since neither Mr. Babsland or myself grew up with any gaming system (you know, like atari and the like), this is a pretty big deal and I think we are as excited, if not more so, as the children.  Don't worry, we have strict rules about it's use.  You can only play Wii on days that you practice, and you should ONLY practice on days that you eat.  That should be motivation for all of us.

Secondly, since Dexter can't play the Wii, we (meaning Mr. Babsland) let our dear doggie sleep outside his crate for the first time since we adopted him a year ago.  I am so proud of our furry little family member.  He found a dandy spot and stayed there all night...hasn't even budged this morning since I got up to get ready for my morning run and dash off this blog post.  He is a good dog, even if he is obnoxious during the day.

Yay! The wii is fun. I love your dog. I mean, I mostly love that he isn't MY dog. But he is seriously cute. ;)
